Safewise.com has released its list of the safest cities in Indiana and four Hamilton County communities earned a top 10 ranking.
Of Hamilton County communities, Westfield ranked as the second-safest city in Indiana. Carmel ranked third, Fishers ranked fourth and Noblesville rounded out the top 10 list with a seventh-place ranking.
According to Safewise, Carmel and Fishers each dropped one spot this year, the only two cities in the state to drop in ranking.
The report indicates the most notable improvement was in Noblesville where property crime rates dropped from 13.2 (2017) to 9.3 incidents per 1,000 people (2019).
Carmel was the only safest city to report murders in the last year.
