Hamilton County Chiropractic’s Dr. Abraham Beaber has recently earned a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) certification, thus fulfilling a personal goal to increase his business’s scope of services.
“I grew up playing sports,” Dr. Beaber told The Reporter, “and I played sports all my life. In going into this field, I always wanted to specialize in sports. That’s what this certification has done for me, allowing me to specialize in treating athletes and sports injuries.”
Beaber became a chiropractor in 2003 and opened his practice in Noblesville in 2006. He said he is looking forward to working with local athletes.
“It also allows me to work for the community — to be involved with sports teams, “Beaber said. “With this new certification, I can be a team physician providing everything from full scale pre-participation physicals to preventing sports injuries for athletes, including assessing and rehabbing injuries, concussion management. We are able to help a team at an optimum level. There are only about 20 chiropractors in the State of Indiana that have this certification, and I believe there are three in the area with these credentials.”
Beaber says he looks forward to being more effective in treating sports-related injuries.
“With the certification, it allows me to expand to perform even more extremity testing,” Beaber said, “and these are the things we already do but these skills allow us to do them even better. We learn the skills to more effective tape and treat sports injuries. We are passionate about helping athletes perform at a higher level and get back to sports participation as quickly as possible.”
