Gymnastics: Shamrocks win at Shelbyville, Millers place fifth at Western

The Westfield gymnastics team won a three-team meet last Saturday at Shelbyville.

The Shamrocks scored 100.25 points, just ahead of Roncalli’s 99.30. The host Golden Bears scored 61.025.

Isa Galan was an event winner for Westfield, placing first in the vault. Galan finished third in the floor exercise and was fourth on the uneven bars and the balance beam, placing third in the all-around.

Elianna Reynolds finished second in the all-around, also getting runner-up on beam and the floor exercise. Reynolds also took third in the vault and bars. Sara Borek placed third on beam. Madie Doran was fifth on floor and sixth on beam, while Avery Mason was fifth on vault.

The Shamrocks compete in Rushville this weekend.

Noblesville placed fifth at the Western Invitational last Saturday.

The Millers put together a team score of 92.825. Kylie Lotridge finished eighth in the all-around with a total of 31.925 and had Noblesville’s highest score of the meet with an 8.55 on the floor exercise.

Valorey Bittles had the Millers’ best individual place by taking fifth on the uneven bars (7.90), while Emmerson Leckrone was sixth on the bars (7.70).

Noblesville’s scores now follow. The Millers’ next meet is Saturday, when they compete in the Lafayette Jefferson Invitational, which takes place at Linnwood School.

Vault: Lotridge 8.25, Bittles 8.00, Leckrone 7.95, Lydia Blackwell 7.45.

Uneven bars: Bittles 7.90, Leckrone 7.70, Lotridge 7.50, Alina Skryabnev 4.90.

Balance beam: Lotridge 7.625, Bittles 7.325, Ethan Rivers 5.90, Leckrone 5.60.

Floor exercise: Lotridge 8.55, Leckrone 8.25, Bittles 7.875, Skryabnev 7.325.
