The Noblesville gymnastics team hosted a four-team meet on Tuesday.
The Millers finished second by scoring 95.00, with New Palestine the winner with a score of 96.675. Noblesville did have the all-around champion on Tuesday, as Makayla Kauzlick scored 33.975 to take that honor.
Kauzlick also won the floor exercise with an 8.75, the highest Miller score of the night. Kauzlick also placed second in the uneven bars and balance beam events.
“Makayla just has such grace and elegance as she performs on floor,” said Noblesville coach Jody Ramey. “After sitting out of the floor competition on Saturday due to her ankle injury she was able to jump right back in and perform an excellent routine.”
Devyn Palmer also had a solid floor routine, placing fifth with an 8.20. “Devyn’s show choir background shines through as she performs on floor,” said Ramey.
Olivia Mangin placed third on the vault with an 8.50, while Palmer and Kauzlick tied for fifth with 8.40 each.
Ramey said it was a “decent” day for the Millers, but they were disappointed to not get the win.
“We were so close, but I also felt that we did well especially despite our team injuries,” said Ramey.
Noblesville will host Lafayette Jeff next Wednesday, Feb. 7 for their next meet.
