The Noblesville gymnastics team competed in the Western Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth out of six teams.
The Millers had several of their varsity gymnasts unavailable due to injuries, while Olivia Mangin was also absent due to a church retreat. So, coach Jody Ramey called upon some of her junior varsity athletes to compete at Western.
“Our JV gymnasts were able to do a great job filling in and I was very proud of the girls and their performance today,” said Ramey.
Freshman Makayla Kauzlick continued her strong start to high school gymnastics, winning the uneven bars even with a score of 8.95. Kauzlick was only able to compete in two of four events; Ramey said she was proud of how Kauzlick performed.
“She did a great job and had an excellent bar routine today,” said Ramey.
Devyn Palmer was the lone Miller to complete an all-around score, totaling 31.315.
Noblesville will have its first home meet on Tuesday, welcoming New Palestine for a 6 p.m. start.
