The Guerin Catholic basketball teams hosted Lafayette Central Catholic in a doubleheader Friday night for the annual Bishop’s Cup games.
In the girls game, the Golden Eagles fell to the Knights 49-25. The teams were tied at 5-5 after one quarter, but LCC shut out Guerin Catholic in the second quarter on its way to a 14-5 halftime lead.
The Knights led 35-18 after three quarters; Kori Dues hit three 3-points for the Golden Eagles during that period. Dues totaled five 3s for the game, scoring 15 points.
Guerin Catholic finished its regular season with this game and will take a 9-13 record into Sectional 27 play. The Golden Eagles play in the semifinals next Friday, taking on the winner of a first-round game between Heritage Christian and Herron that will be played on Tuesday.

The Class 3A No. 3 Guerin Catholic boys took care of business over the Knights, winning 55-31. The Golden Eagles dominated the first half, leading 10-2 after one quarter and 25-5 at halftime. A 19-point fourth quarter sealed the game.
It was Senior Night for Guerin Catholic, and two seniors led the scoring. Robert Sorensen had 21 points, including three 3-pointers, while Dylan Murans scored 11. Andy Caron and Bryson Cardinal both collected six rebounds, and Murans blocked two shots.
The Golden Eagles are 14-5 and play this afternoon at 4A No. 5 Noblesville.
