Editor’s note: The following letter was sent to Guerin Catholic families on Wednesday afternoon regarding the passing of head boys soccer coach Chris McGrath. The letter appears in its entirety below.
To our Guerin Catholic Family,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guerin Catholic Head Boys Soccer Coach, Chris McGrath (top row, far right).
Please join us in prayer for the repose of his soul, and for peace and strength for the McGrath family, including Chris’ wife, Shari, daughters Emily (’17) and Julia (’19), and son Ryan. Finally, please pray for the GC faculty, staff, students, and most especially the boys soccer program, as these young men move forward during this challenging time.
The McGraths are members of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Westfield. We will share funeral arrangements when they are available.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May Chris’ soul and all of the souls for the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.
