Guerin Catholic dropped a game at North Central last Saturday, 62-54.
The Panthers led 16-13 after one quarter, but the Golden Eagles came back to tie it up at 26-26 by halftime. North Central blasted through the third period, outscoring Guerin Catholic 20-8 for a 46-34 lead, then went up 53-37 in the fourth quarter. The Golden Eagles made a big comeback in the fourth, but the Panthers were able to hold them off.
Robert Sorensen led Guerin Catholic with 21 points, followed by Dylan Murans with 14 and Kamea Chandler with 10. Bryson Cardinal added five points and Lucas Parker contributed four. The Golden Eagles outrebounded North Central 30-21, with Sorensen collecting five rebounds, and Cardinal and Josh Holba both pulling five. Chandler dished out eight assists and Jack Cherry handed out four.
Guerin Catholic is 12-6 and plays two games on the road this week, traveling to New Palestine on Tuesday and Indianapolis Washington on Thursday.
