Guerin Catholic has canceled all athletic events and extra-curricular activities through Sunday, Sept. 6, as the school will switch to e-learning this week.
In an email, the school said that there have been a number of recent positive cases of COVID-19, which has resulted in a large number of students being quarantined. There will be no classes today, then Guerin Catholic will begin e-learning on Thursday and use it through Friday, Sept. 4.
The school hopes to resume athletic practices on Monday, Sept. 7, which will allow student-athletes to participate in the mandatory four practices before that weekend’s events.
The cancellations include the Golden Eagles football team’s games at Decatur Central on Friday, and the home contest with Heritage Christian on Sept. 4.
