Celebrated salsa orchestra earned Latin Grammy with latest album

Acclaimed Colombian salsa orchestra Grupo Niche has rescheduled its upcoming performance at the Palladium at Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts.

Originally set for Nov. 8, the show has been rescheduled to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date.

Formed in 1979, Grupo Niche is recognized by critics and the public alike as one of the most successful salsa groups in Latin America. The award-winning ensemble was founded in Bogotá by the late composer and arranger Jairo Varela Martínez before resettling in the western city of Cali. The group is known for its prominent horn arrangements, up-tempo African rhythms, and hits such as “Cali Pachanguero” and “Una Aventura,” which have become standards of the genre. Grupo Niche’s latest album is Niche Sinfónico, recorded with the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia and named Best Salsa Album at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards.

The concert is part of the Telamon Passport Series and the 2024-2025 Center Presents Season sponsored by Allied Solutions. Questions and concerns may be directed to the center’s Fifth Third Bank Box Office at (317) 843-3800 or Tickets@TheCenterPresents.org.
