Greyhounds pull through to take down Zionsville

Carmel won its second consecutive game on Tuesday, pulling away in the second half for a 49-41 victory.

The Greyhounds led 14-10 after the first quarter, with freshman Catherine Bassi making three 3-pointers. The Eagles came back to tie the game at 18-18 by halftime, but Carmel outscored Zionsville 31-23 in the second half to secure the win.

Izzy Shepherd led the Greyhounds’ scoring with 20 points; she made all six of her free throw attempts in the fourth quarter. Bassi totaled 17 points, making five 3-pointers in all. Lauren Perry added seven second-half points.

Carmel is 2-2 and hosts Fort Wayne Carroll Saturday afternoon.
