Greyhounds fall to No. 1 Penn

Carmel lost to Class 4A No. 1 Penn 8-4 in a Saturday game at the Kingsmen’s field.
The Greyhounds scored first, when Brayden Lentz doubled home JD Rogers in the top of the third inning. But Penn scored a run in the bottom of the third, then took the lead for good with six runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Carmel scored three runs in the fifth innings: Christian Williams hit a left field double to score Drew Olssen. Jackson Adams singled in JD Rogers and Williams with his own left field hit. Williams finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Greyhounds are 2-2 and will play at Hamilton Southeastern on Monday.
