Great start sends Sheridan to victory

Sheridan had a strong start and a strong finish on Saturday, and that resulted in a 59-40 home win over Elwood.
The Blackhawks had an incredible first quarter, taking a 19-1 lead by the time it was finished. Sheridan then held off the Panthers in the next two periods, then poured in 22 points during the fourth quarter.
Three Blackhawks players reached double figures. Lillie Dickerson scored 14 points, with Taylor Bates adding 13 and Kaylie Kantz scoring 10. Dickerson threw in two 3-pointers.
Sheridan had a great day on the boards with 42 rebounds. Kantz and Bates both pulled nine rebounds, with Allie Delph collecting six. Delph also dished out six assists.
The Blackhawks are 2-4 and host Western Boone on Tuesday.
