Grand Park Running Series pairs with Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank

The Grand Park Running Series is teaming up with the Hamilton County Harvest (HCH) Food Bank and the Noblesville Meijer Simply Give program this December to help provide food and funds for hungry families during the holiday season and throughout the year.

The Grand Park Running Series is a monthly running series at the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield. The series consists of a monthly 5K, 10K, 15K and 20K event in partnership with Girls on the Run of Central Indiana, on the first Sunday of each month.

On Sunday, Dec. 3, during the Holly Jolly Hustle race, the public will have the opportunity to donate food items to the HCH Food Bank. The HCH Food Bank food drive donation lane will be open from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Lot C parking lot at the Grand Park campus. Runners and walkers participating in this December event are also able to donate food items before, during or after the race.

In addition to collecting food items, the Grand Park Running Series will also be donating $10 for all registered runners to the HCH Food Bank. This $10 will turn into a $30 Meijer food card to be used by HCH as part of the Meijer Simply Give program.

All donations collected during the Holly Jolly Hustle will go toward the Dec. 8 and 9 Double Match Days, later that week. The donated $10 will provide $30 in food purchases HCH can use to support all of the Hamilton County pantries and feeding programs.

“HCH Food Bank is excited to partner with the Grand Park Running Series at its Holly Jolly Hustle,” said executive director of the HCH Food Bank, Anita Hagen. “Your entry fee will also help ‘fill an empty plate’ for those Hamilton County families who are wondering where their next meal is coming from.”
