Sheridan’s win streak came to an end on Tuesday, as the Blackhawks lost a tough Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Clinton Prairie 55-49.
The Gophers led 16-10 after the first quarter and 31-24 at halftime. Prairie extended its lead to 48-35 after three periods; Sheridan came back in the fourth quarter, but the Gophers held on for the win.
Audrey Reed had another dominating game, scoring 34 points. She also had five rebounds. Nixon Williams was also strong on the boards with 14 rebounds.
The Blackhawks are now 3-2 in the HHC, placing them in fourth currently. Sheridan has two more conference games on the schedule, with one of those contests to be played for its next game: The ‘Hawks will host Tri-Central Saturday afternoon. Sheridan is 7-4 overall.
