The Hamilton County Republican Women’s Club (HCRW) recently named Chris Elmore and Katherine LaReau as the 2021 HCRW Club Scholarship Recipients. They were both recognized at the second annual Indiana High School Republicans President’s Day Dinner.

Chris Elmore

Chris Elmore is a graduate of Carmel High School and has been very involved with the Republican Party since his freshman year of high school. As a ninth grader, he joined the Carmel High School Young Republicans Club and began interning for the Hamilton County GOP. By his sophomore year, he was president of his high school club and elected to become Chairman of the Indiana High School Republicans.

Since then, Chris has served the party in a multitude of roles ranging from political director for Mayor Brainard’s re-election campaign, field director for Senator Ruckelshaus’ re-election campaign, and most recently Executive Director for the Hamilton County GOP.

Elmore says he is excited to begin his next chapter as a student of economics at the Kelley School of Business in Bloomington and as Chairman of the Hamilton County Young Republicans.

Katherine LaReau

Katherine LaReau is a graduate of Guerin Catholic High School where she served as co-president of her class and started a Speech team and a Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chapter. Under her leadership, the Guerin Catholic YAF chapter held monthly meetings to discuss and debate political hot topics, participated in national projects including the 9/11 Never Forget Project, attended several YAF conferences, and hosted guest speakers including Venezuelan asylum seeker Jorge Galicia and former Indiana Congresswoman Susan Brooks.

LaReau developed her passion for politics throughout high school through the United States Senate Youth Program, the annual March for Life and 4-H governmental learning opportunities.

LaReau currently attends the United States Military Academy where she will major in Chemical Engineering.
