For five years now several organizations in the Sheridan community have come together to work with the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County to provide community members with a free Thanksgiving Day meal. The meal is being served at the Community Center and serving time is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Last year nearly 200 people enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Again this year the Network is providing all the food and community citizens are providing the manpower to make this free meal possible. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. This is a great opportunity for all to come together and break bread with our fellow man in peace and friendship as we begin this wonderful holiday season.

If you cannot stay for the free meal, take-outs are available and if you cannot make the journey, there is a home delivery option, too. If you would like a free meal delivered to you, please call Steve at the library (317-758-5201) and ask to be put on the delivery list. And help spread the word by telling your friends and neighbors about this free meal.

Please make plans to join everyone this year for a great meal with great fellowship and great conversation, and best of all, it’s free. If you do not feel like cooking a big meal and your kids are all grown up and off with their friends or their own families, don’t sit at home alone. Please come and join, or at least let the Good Samaritans bring you a good hot meal.
