The Westfield girls golf team continued its winning ways on Saturday, cruising to the Chippendale Invitational championship.
The No. 1-ranked Shamrocks scored a 301, well ahead of runner-up Penn’s 343. Sophie McGinnis was the meet medalist with a score of 72. All five Shamrocks finished in the individual top 10.
Sam Brown placed third with a 76, while Addi Kooi tied for fourth by scoring 76. Allie Hildebrand placed eighth with a 79 and Brette Hanavan tied for ninth with an 80.
“Today was a good day for us as a team,” said Westfield coach Trevor Neu. “Sophie had a really nice day and finished her round strong. Sam had a fantastic front nine today and battled through some tough stretches on her back nine. Another bright spot today was Freshman Addi Kooi. She showed some mental toughness today and also had a strong finish. Overall having all five players in the top 10 shows just how deep we are as a team.”
Noblesville placed fourth as a team with 369. Erin Burt’s 87 paced the Millers.
Fishers was sixth in the team standings with a 376. Lilly McVay’s 76 tied her for sixth place.

Carmel scored an impressive win at the Zionsville Invitational, which took place Saturday at the Golf Club of Indiana.
The No. 2-ranked Greyhounds totaled 296 and had three players finish in the individual top four. Claire Swathwood was the medalist with a four under par 68, while Michaela Headlee’s one under par 71 gave her second place. Ava Hedrick landed in fourth with a 75.
Ava Nguyen added an 82 and Kamryn Williams scored 87.
Carmel’s junior varsity team placed fourth with a 348. Sophie Mock scored a 79, followed by Sophie Cassidy 88, Caroline Enzor 89, Maya Berglund 92 and Gabby Saber 114.
Hamilton Southeastern won the Lapel Invitational Saturday at Edgewood Golf Course.
The No. 6-ranked Royals scored 301 with a consistent performance from all five golfers. Yanah Ralston tied for second place individual with a 72, while Marissa Spreitzer and Cora Zink both had 76s. Lauren Stewart and Ella Bui each scored 77.
Ninth-ranked Noblesville was the team runner-up, carding a 314. Caroline Whallon also tied for second with a 72, while Sophi Stutz scored a 76.
Westfield finished fifth by totaling 336. Allie McKeown led the Shamrocks with a 76. Hamilton Heights scored 369; Ashlyn Tharp led the Huskies with an 85.

University ran away with the Elwood Big Cat Invitational Saturday at the Elwood Golf Links.
The No. 14-ranked Trailblazers scored a 303, over 100 strokes ahead of second place. Becky Williams was the meet medalist with a score of 70. Other University scores were unavailable at press time.
Guerin Catholic’s Christina Pfefferkorn was the meet medalist at the Ben Davis Invitational on Saturday, with a 71.
The Golden Eagles scored 327 as a team. Other GC scores were Izzy Pinon 76, Jenny Zerla 87, Audrey Kunce 93 and Grace Cates 95.
