Golf: Shamrocks continue winning ways

The Westfield girls golf team continued its winning ways last Saturday by triumphing at the Western Invitational at Chippendale Golf Club in Russiaville.

The No. 1-ranked Shamrocks put together a team score of 300. Addi Kooi earned another medalist honor, scoring 68 to take first place. Kelsey Haverluck scored 73 to finish third individually while Sophie Raines’ 77 was good for fourth place.

Fishers scored 370. Lola Kivett led the Tigers with 87, followed by Kendall Manion 91, Sophia Rush 93, Ellie Webster 199 and Aleah Miller 108.

Noblesville sent a team to Chippendale; the Millers scored 392. Maddie Munson totaled 89 and Keelin Werkley scored 94.

Noblesville had two teams play at the Lapel Invitational last Saturday at Edgewood Golf Course, and those two teams finished first and second.

The Millers Black team scored 289 to win the event. Josie Kelley was the medalist with a score of 69; she then won a playoff to claim the gold. Olivia Fowler tied for third place individually with a 73. Karis Shields scored 76 and Presley White had 77.

Noblesville’s Golf team totaled a 316. Kate Murphy led the way with 75, followed by Savannah Munson 80, Gillian Cota 80, Peyton Kauzlick 81 and Lauren Turpin 81.

Hamilton Southeastern placed third as a team, scoring 327. Janelle Garcia tied for third place individually with 73, followed by Paige O’Hara 83, Brooke Willard 84, Maya Cieply 89 and Bella Stanley 95.

Westfield sent a team to Edgewood, which scored 354. Anna Mckeown carded 80, followed by Lilley Ku 87, Taylor Nokes 88, Maggie Thompson 99 and Emory Schroeder 103.

Hamilton Heights totaled a team score of 379. Taylor Morrison was the Huskies’ low scorer with 84, followed by Presley Cherry 93, Tanner Penwell 98, Fiona McDonald 104 and Sammie Powers 112.

Carmel placed fourth at the Zionsville Invitational last Saturday at Golf Club of Indiana

The Greyhounds scored 350 as a team. Sophie Mock placed second individually with 75, followed by Maddie Headlee 87, Allie Thompson 93, Reese Roudebush 95 and Georgia Murnan 102.

Carmel played a second team at GCI, which scored 403. Kate Harding led with 98, followed by Ananya Yemme 99, Moki Noothalapati 100, Sophia Landrigan 106 and Mallorie Monico 107.

The Millers scored 144 to Zionsville’s 159 and Fishers’ 190. Noblesville’s Kate Murphy was the medalist with a two under par 33.
