The Guerin Catholic girls golf team won the Circle City Conference tournament, which took place Saturday at Pebble Brook.
This is the fourth year in a row that the Golden Eagles have triumphed in the conference championship. Guerin scored 317, followed by Heritage Christian 334, Bishop Chatard 366, Roncalli 374, Brebeuf Jesuit 390 and Covenant Christian 425.
Angelica Pfefferkorn was the meet medalist with a 70, while Christina Pfefferkorn took fourth place by scoring 77. Both players were named to the All-Conference team. The other three Golden Eagles all had personal bests: Jenna Rust 85, Audrey Kunce 85 and Jenny Zerla 92.
Westfield picked up its second tournament win of the week Saturday, placing first at the Lafayette Jefferson Broncho Invite at Battle Ground Golf Course.
The Shamrocks scored 308 as a team, following up on their win at the Hamilton County championship on Wednesday. Jocelyn Bruch was the meet medalist with a one-under par 71. Sophie McGinnis carded a 74, a season-best, to take third. Natalie Shupe’s 80 placed her in the top 10. Allie Hildebrand scored 83 and Cate Jensen had an 86.
Westfield’s junior varsity team also competed and placed fourth with a 338. Brette Hanavan finished fourth individually with a 78, while Allie McKeown scored 80 to land in the top 10. Other scores were Grace Snyder 90, Avery Brooks 90 and Alli McEvoy 91.
“It was a great day for our program to take home first place and our JV team to have a top five finish,” said Shamrocks coach Trevor Neu. “It was also great to see five of our ten players to finish in the top 10.”
Hamilton Southeastern placed sixth with a 355. Cora Zink led the Royals with an 84. Other Southeastern scores were Amber Luttrell 86, Ashley Marcinko 90, Katy Pippenger 95 and Kaley McHaffie 95.
