Golf carts & co-pilots teach kids about drugs

On Wednesday, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office SRO Deputies Neal and Ireland brought an important lesson to Hamilton Heights High School teacher Mr. Ballenger’s health class, focusing on the real-life impact of drug and alcohol impairment. Through an interactive session using golf carts and safety co-pilots, students got a firsthand look at how these substances can drastically affect coordination, reaction time, and overall ability to function safely. The hands-on experience was both eye-opening and engaging, leaving a lasting impression. The hope is this knowledge will encourage students to think twice about the dangers of substance use and make responsible choices for their future. Thank you to Indiana Golf Car Rental for donating the golf carts for the students to use.
