Guerin Catholic finished its regular season on a winning note, as the Golden Eagles beat Culver Academies 24-14 Friday at the Eagles Nest.
Guerin led 10-0 after the first quarter. Addison Lushin kicked a field goal, then Sam Miller scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown. Lushin kicked the extra point.
The Golden Eagles added one touchdown in each of the next two quarters. Miller sent an 18-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Glenn in the second period, then Jagger Albert scored in the third quarter on a nine-yard run. Lushin kicked extra points after each score.
Culver got on the board in the fourth period with two touchdowns, but Guerin Catholic had the game in hand by then. Albert led the way, rushing for 127 yards. Danny Rhoad made a 59-yard run.
Miller completed 8 of 10 pass attempts for 78 yards, including the touchdown. Glenn and Elijah Edwards each made two receptions.
The Golden Eagles finished their season 3-4 and will host West Lafayette next Friday in the first round of Class 3A Sectional 28.
