Guerin Catholic began its road trip on a winning note, taking care of Liberty Christian 75-60 Tuesday at the Lions Den.
The Golden Eagles powered their way to a 27-11 lead after the first quarter, then were up 43-22 at halftime. Bernie McGuinness poured in 25 points, making 10 of 12 field goal attempts.
Kian Sills added 10 points, including two 3-pointers, and also pulled five rebounds and handed out five assists. Matt Parenteau collected 11 rebounds, with McGuinness and Cameron Weitzel also corralling five. Joseph Bobilya dished out five assists.
Guerin Catholic is 10-7 and will play at Class 1A No. 3 Lafayette Central Catholic Friday night in the Bishop’s Cup game.
