Golden Eagles keep going strong, beat Brebeuf Jesuit

The Guerin Catholic baseball team continued its strong season with a 6-4 win over Brebeuf Jesuit in a Circle City Conference game.

The Golden Eagles began their scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Davis Wagner hit a two-out single, and Sam Tabor followed that up with a right field double. Both players scored when Cuinn Morrow reached on error.

Tabor struck again in the third inning, as he doubled in Ian Taylor for a run. Morrow then cracked a center field single to bring in Tabor and Wagner. Both Taylor and Wagner hit singles to get on base.

Guerin Catholic added one more run in the fourth inning. Karson Smith cracked a one-out triple to right field, then scored on Will Fremion’s RBI groundout.

Wagner, Tabor and Morrow all finished the game with two hits. Wagner went five innings for the pitching win, tossing eight strikeouts.

The Golden Eagles are unbeaten in CCC play at 4-0 and are 8-1 overall. Guerin Catholic travels to Lafayette Central Catholic on Friday to play the Knights in their first game of the Catholic Classic.
