The Guerin Catholic girls basketball team began its season last Saturday with a big win at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles beat Greenwood Christian Academy 63-25. Guerin Catholic outscored the Cougars in each of the four quarters, leading 15-6 after one period and 31-16 at halftime. Ava Bills scored nine points in the first half.
The Golden Eagles took further control in the third quarter, outscoring GCA 22-7. Bills added six more points, giving her a game-high total of 15. Guerin Catholic finished the game with a 10-2 fourth quarter.
Annie Murphy and Lillian Behrle both scored in double digits for GC, with 10 points each. Murphy hit two 3-pointers. Dana Dues had eight points.
Guerin Catholic plays two games this week, traveling to Yorktown on Tuesday before hosting Greenfield-Central Saturday afternoon.
