Guerin Catholic finished up its five-game homestand with a win Saturday night, beating Muncie Central 62-60 at the Eagles Nest.
In a close game throughout, the Golden Eagles led the Bearcats 15-13 after the first quarter and 32-29 at halftime. Guerin Catholic then held a 51-46 advantage after three periods and were able to hold off Muncie Central in the fourth.
Four Golden Eagles players reached double figures, led by Kaleb Edwards’ 16 points. Bernie McGuinness added 14 points, followed by Cameron Weitzel’s 13 and Joseph Bobilya’s 12. All four Guerin players had multiple 3-pointers: Weitzel threw in four triples, Edwards was 3-of-3 from long range, and Bobilya and McGuinness each made two.
Matthew Gillis led the rebounds with eight, followed by Weitzel with six. Bobilya and McGuinness both collected five rebounds. Kameron Osswald handed out six assists, while Bobilya dished out five assists.
The Golden Eagles are 3-2 and play their first road game of the season Tuesday at Pendleton Heights.
