Guerin Catholic fought back in its Senior Night game with Decatur Central on Tuesday before falling to the Hawks 54-48 at the Eagles Nest.
Decatur Central jumped out to a 21-9 lead after the first quarter. The Golden Eagles cut into that lead over the next two periods, getting within 33-25 by halftime and 43-39 after three quarters. Kori Dues helped out with two 3-pointers in the second quarter, while Natalie Fernandez scored nine points over the second and third periods. But the Hawks held off GC in the fourth.
Fernandez and Megan Cobb both scored 11 points for the Golden Eagles, while Dues had three 3s for nine points.
Guerin Catholic is 8-13 and finishes the regular season Friday at Lafayette Central Catholic, part of a girls-boys doubleheader.
