Guerin Catholic was overwhelmed by Roncalli 42-0 Friday in a Circle City Conference game at the Rebels’ field.
Roncalli, ranked No. 10 in Class 4A, led 7-0 after the first quarter, then dominated the second period by scoring 28 points. That included two rushing touchdowns for Baron Huebler, the first for 23 yards and the second for 10 yards. The Rebels got one more touchdown in the third, on a long pass from Aidan Leffler to Kyle Lockard.
Sam Miller had an efficient night passing for the 3A No. 9 Golden Eagles, going 11-for-18 and totaling 72 yards. Elijah Edwards made eight catches on the night. Jagger Albert led the rushing with 64 yards.
The loss dropped Guerin Catholic to 0-2 in conference play and 1-2 overall. The Golden Eagles will go back on the road next Friday to play at Bishop Chatard. That will be the final conference game of the season for Guerin Catholic.
