Golden Eagles fall to No. 10 Anderson

Guerin Catholic went on the road to play a very good Anderson team on Tuesday, with the Golden Eagles falling to the 73-34.
Anderson, which is ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press Class 4A poll and No. 17 in the IBCA coaches poll, outscored Guerin Catholic in each of the four quarters. The Indians led 24-9 after one period and 45-15 at halftime. The Golden Eagles got their offense going in the third quarter, scoring 16 points, but Anderson poured in 24 to keep their wide margin intact.
Robert Sorensen led the Golden Eagles with 12 points, including three 3-pointers. Ten different Guerin Catholic players scored at least two points.
The Golden Eagles are 13-10 and will play in Class 3A Sectional 27 at Lebanon next week. Guerin Catholic drew the bye and will take on either Shortridge or Brebeuf Jesuit in the March 4 semi-finals.
