Golden Eagles drop road game to Panthers

Guerin Catholic dropped its season opener on Wednesday, falling to Park Tudor 73-62 in an away game.
The Panthers led 17-13 after the first quarter and 34-23 at halftime. The Golden Eagles tried to rally in the third period with Will Grissom leading the way, as the senior exploded for 11 points in that quarter. Guerin Catholic cut slightly into Park Tudor’s lead, getting within 50-41 by the end of the period. But the Panthers poured in 23 points in the fourth to seal the win.
Grissom finished the game with 33 points, by far the leading scorer. Ten different players scored for the Golden Eagles.
Guerin Catholic plays Saturday at Cardinal Ritter.
