Guerin Catholic rolled into the semifinals of Sectional 25 at Brebeuf Jesuit on Thursday, beating Lebanon 13-0 in five innings.
The Golden Eagles scored two runs in the first inning; Carson Kail singled in Ben Canada, then Karson Smith scored when Grant Beard hit a sacrifice fly. Guerin Catholic added three runs in the third inning. Beard doubled in Ian Taylor, then later scored on an error. Luke Gremelspacher sent another double into center field to bring in Liam Zorger.
The Golden Eagles wrapped the game up with eight runs in the fifth inning. Nolan Ratcliff doubled in Tate Troxell, then scored on an error. Smith batted in Canada to give GC an 8-0 lead.
Smith got home when Beard drew a bases-loaded walk, then Troxell smacked a double to score Taylor and Brody Cain. Frankie Ryan singled in Beard and Troxell for the final two runs.
Taylor hit a double in the fourth inning as one of two hits. Canada and Smith also had two hits. Three Golden Eagles pitchers combined for a no-hitter: Tate Troxell had four strikeouts in two innings, then Gremelspacher threw the next two innings, with one strikeout. Finn Holden finished the game with two strikeouts in the fifth inning.
Guerin Catholic is 15-12 and plays the host Braves at 1 p.m. Monday in the second semifinal, following the first semifinal between Crawfordsville and Tri-West. Brebeuf beat Danville 5-3 in the other Thursday game.
