Golden Eagles boys fall to Brebeuf

Guerin Catholic dropped a 62-52 Circle City Conference game to Brebeuf Jesuit Friday in part of a girls-boys doubleheader at the Eagles Nest.
The Braves took control of the game early, leading 19-12 after the first quarter and 39-27 at halftime. The Golden Eagles’ defense stepped up in the third period, limiting Brebeuf to five points, but the Braves responded by outscoring GC 18-14 in the fourth.
Bernie McGuinness earned another double-double, with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Matthew Gillis pulled four rebounds, while Joseph Bobilya hit two 3-pointers.
Guerin Catholic finished conference play with 1-4 record and is 9-7 overall. The Golden Eagles will now go on a six-game road trip, starting with a Tuesday game at Liberty Christian.
