Noblesville went back on the road to another county foe last Saturday afternoon, traveling to the Eagles’ Nest at Guerin Catholic. In a close game, the Golden Eagles beat the Millers in overtime, 51-46.
There were 26 lead changes and eight ties in the game, which finished with Noblesville and Guerin Catholic knotted up at 10-10 after one quarter and 22-22 at halftime. The Millers led 38-36 after three periods, but the Golden Eagles came back by to tie it up 45-45 at the end of regulation. Guerin Catholic then outscored Noblesville 6-1 in the extra period.
Robert Sorensen scored 14 points for GC, with Bryson Cardinal adding 11 points. Dylan Murans added eight points, followed by Jack Cherry and Lucas Parker with six each. Kamea Chandler had four points and Josh Holba scored two.
Sorensen collected seven rebounds, while Cherry had five. Chandler dished out six assists and Ty Sanders blocked two shots.
Almodovar led the Millers with 19 points. Fine added eight points, Walston scored seven, Bean had six and Preston Roberts added two points. Walston collected seven rebounds and Fine handed out seven assists.
Guerin Catholic is 12-6 and plays Saturday at North Central. Noblesville is 4-1 in HCC play and 12-5 overall, and hosts Mount Vernon Thursday.
