On Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to noon, Indiana leaders and local charities will come together at Clay Terrace in Carmel for the Giving Machine Community Kickoff. This special Giving Tuesday event celebrates the spirit of giving and provides Hoosiers with a unique way to make a difference both locally and globally.
State Treasurer Dan Elliot, Comptroller Elise Nieshalla, and Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam will share the stage with charity leaders to highlight the Giving Machine’s mission of empowering Hoosiers to support their neighbors and global communities. Longtime Indiana broadcaster Rafael Sanchez will host as emcee, adding his signature warmth and energy to the celebration.
The Light the World Giving Machines campaign kicked off on Nov. 23 with a heartwarming unveiling event at Clay Terrace, where hundreds of Hoosiers gathered to celebrate the season of giving. Children from across Indiana participated in service projects, creating kindness cards for Ronald McDonald House Charities and hygiene kits for families in need through Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis.
“The Giving Machine has become a beacon of generosity in Indiana,” said Giving Machine Indy Co-Chair Rhonda Petersen. “We’re thrilled to see even more people join us this year to support their favorite charities and experience the joy of giving to those in need.”
The Light the World Giving Machines, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, offer an easy and impactful way to give back. Visitors can ‘purchase’ items like chickens for family farming, books for students, and meals for the hungry. Every donation goes directly to local and global charities, making it a meaningful way to celebrate the season of giving.
Since the Giving Machine opened eight years ago, 2.2 million people have donated $32 million in goods and services to care for those in need. Visitors donate by purchasing items ranging in price from $3 to $300.
The Giving Machines are open at Clay Terrace, 14540 Clay Terrace Blvd., Carmel, through Jan. 5. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference. Learn more at Facebook.com/givingmachineindy.
