Last week, my team and I had the honor of volunteering at Wheeler Mission, an Indianapolis-based organization that provides vital support to individuals and families in need. From preparing meals to serving guests, we witnessed firsthand the compassion and dedication of those who make Wheeler Mission a lifeline for so many in our community.
The experience reminded us of the importance of gratitude and service, especially during the holiday season. I’m proud of my team for stepping up to serve, and I encourage everyone to find ways to give back this season. Together, we can make a difference.

This week, I had the privilege of participating in unveiling The Giving Machine at Clay Terrace in Carmel, an inspiring initiative that empowers individuals to make a difference this holiday season. The Giving Machine offers a simple yet impactful way to give back.
Instead of dispensing snacks or drinks, donors can “purchase” charitable gifts like meals, clothing, medical supplies, or even livestock for families in need. I was joined by community leaders and local nonprofit organizations in celebrating the launch of this powerful campaign, part of the #LightTheWorld initiative.
The Giving Machine will remain in Clay Terrace throughout the holiday season.

On Tuesday, I was privileged to participate in the Make Good Decisions press conference at Purdue University alongside state officials and student leaders. We gathered to highlight the impact of Indiana’s Lifeline Law, which ensures students won’t face prosecution for underage drinking if they call/text 911 to report a medical emergency and cooperate with authorities. This law saves lives by empowering young Hoosiers to prioritize safety without fear of legal consequences.
What stood out most was the voice of student leaders advocating for an important improvement: extending immunity to those seeking medical attention for substance overconsumption. Supporting initiatives like this reflects our Hoosier values – compassion, leadership, and commitment to saving lives.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our office in the Statehouse! This week, we were blessed with a beautiful Christmas tree, generously donated by Oak Hill Tree Farm in Crawfordsville. We couldn’t be more thankful for their kindness and for helping us bring some holiday cheer to the Statehouse. There’s just something about the smell of fresh pine that gets you in the Christmas spirit. A big shoutout to the Stine Family at Oak Hill Tree Farm for helping make our office holiday season brighter!
