Hamilton Heights picked up its second straight 5-0 sweep on Tuesday, beating Frankton.
The Huskies won four of the five matches in straight sets, while the No. 1 doubles team of Kylie Rose and Emma Knowles came back from a set down to win 6-0 in the third. Heights coach Cameron Scott said the victory wasn’t nearly as easy as the score made it seem, saying that Frankton has good, young players. Also the conditions were “insane,” said the coach.
“Hats off to our girls for battling and thinking their way through it all,” said Scott. “These ladies have found a way to play some strong tennis this season in the midst of cold, snow, lots of wind, and every once in a while even a little heat. It’s sure been a crazy spring, but there’s no doubt it’s making us better.”
The Huskies junior varsity girls came out on top as well, getting singles wins from Hailey VanOeveren, Maddie Nickel, and Jackie Beery and doubles wins from Addi Gordon/Katy Beery, Gwendolyn Kelley/Kate Biggs, Cortney Martin/Brooke Sears, Caitlin Hartwick/Ellie Arrowood, and Paige Doucette/Rebekah Steffen.
