Hamilton County will send 18 young women to Hoosier Girls State later this month. The annual program, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, will be held at Trine University in Angola between June 23 and 29.
In the leadership program, participants will assume the roles of government leaders at the local, county and state levels following campaigns by mock political parties.
Chosen to attend are high school girls who just completed their junior year. They are:
- Becca Counen, Ava Hutchison, Zoe Koniaris and Caroline Ramsey from Carmel
- Sydney Clifford and Samantha England from Westfield
- Valerie Eikenberry and Madison Rossillo from Hamilton Southeastern
- Myra Kivett and Makenna Territo from Fishers
- Caitlin Hartwick, Gwendolyn Kelley, Madeline Teal and Maya Leonard from Hamilton Heights
- Rylee Foster and Megan Kraay from Noblesville
- Amanda Alvarado from Sheridan
- Audrey Darland from Guerin Catholic
