School’s out for the summer, which means the golf courses are full of the best young talent in the state.
That’s the case this week at the Country Club of Terre Haute, which is hosting the Girls State Junior Championship. The first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament are already in the books, with the third round taking place today.
Westfield junior-to-be Jocelyn Bruch is currently in third place with a score of 149. Bruch shot a one-over par 73 for her second round on Wednesday. Overall, she is one shot behind the co-leaders: Zionsville’s Annabelle Pancake and Valparaiso’s Wynne Aldrich both have scores of 148.
Gabriella Gilrowski, a junior-to-be at Guerin Catholic is tied for 10th place with a 156.
Both Bruch and Gilrowski placed in the top 10 at the Girls Indiana PGA Junior Championship, which took place June 7 and 8 at Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash. Bruch finished with a two-day score of 150 (six-over par), while Gilrowski scored a 154.
