The Sheridan girls soccer team ran away with a Hoosier Heartland Conference victory on Wednesday, sailing past Tri-Central 5-0 in a home game.
The game was scoreless at halftime. The Blackhawks were controlling the ball and getting opportunities, but the Trojans were playing solid defense in front of the goal.
Once the second half began, Sheridan was unstoppable. Kadence Voege scored the Blackhawks’ first goal just 15 seconds into the half, with Cecilia Timme making the assist. It was Voege’s first goal of the season.
Soon after, Lucy Hester put in her first-ever goal. The ‘Hawks were rolling after that, as Timme, Chaney Smith and Lilly Chesney each scored to give Sheridan the win.
The Blackhawks host Taylor on Monday for Pink Out Night.

Westfield’s girls picked up a Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory Wednesday, sailing past Franklin Central 3-0.
Sophomore Kate Malin scored two goals for the Shamrocks, while her classmate Reese Sargent added one goal.
Westfield hosts North Central tonight.

Hamilton Heights’ girls team played to a 1-1 tie with Kokomo on Wednesday.
The Huskies’ next game is Saturday afternoon at Yorktown.
