The Noblesville girls soccer team scored an overwhelming victory in its first Hoosier Crossroads Conference game of the season on Wednesday.
The Class 3A No. 1 Millers beat Avon 6-0. Noblesville put in four goals in the first half, starting with Isabella Griffey scoring off a Makenna Maloy assist in the 13th minute. Ava Bramblett got the next goal during the 20th minute, with Tori Goodwin assisting.
Two minutes later, Meredith Tippner made a header to Carlie Sack, who put in the Millers’ third goal. Kiana Siefert scored Noblesville’s fourth goal, with Morgan Peters making the assist. In the second half, Bramblett picked up a second goal off a Kiana Siefert assist, then with under two minutes left, Stella Scroggin sent a corner kick to Tippner, who headed the ball in.
Noblesville is now 3-0 overall. The Millers’ next game is next Wednesday when they host 3A No. 13 Fishers for another HCC contest.
Hamilton Southeastern, ranked No. 3 in 3A, also picked up an easy HCC win Wednesday, taking care of Brownsburg 5-0.
Norah Wans scored the Royals’ first two goals; both were assisted by Tatum Coleman. Southeastern’s next three goals came in the second half. Caroline Kelley scored the first two second-half goal, with Morgan Castiglione assisting the first and Kylie Jones the second. Chloe Count finished the Royals’ scoring with the team’s fifth goal; Makenzie Loftin made the assist.
“The team worked hard collectively again to post another shutout,” said HSE coach Greg Davidson.
The Royals are 2-0 in the conference and 5-0-1 overall. Southeastern next plays next Wednesday when it hosts HCC opponent Avon for Senior Night.
Hamilton Heights, the No. 8 team in 2A, won its Hoosier Conference opener by beating Western 3-1 in a Wednesday home game.
The Panthers scored their goal in the first half, which put the Huskies behind 1-0 at halftime. Heights regrouped in the second half, tying the game nine minutes into the half when Kate Hayes played a ball from near the corner into the box and Kyndall Ferguson sent it past the keeper.
Natalie Marcum scored the Huskies’ second goal with 11 minutes left in the game, Cassidy Felger provided the assist from the left side. Jayla Logan got Heights’ third goal on a 20-yard shot into the left net.
Jenn Houser had four goalkeeper saves for Heights, which is 4-0 overall. The Huskies host Yorktown Saturday afternoon, with a 5:30 p.m. start.
Westfield, ranked No. 20 in 3A, picked up its first HCC win of the season by beating Franklin Central 1-0 in a road game.
The Shamrocks scored their goal in the first half. Amiah Sprunger found the back of the net, with Brooke Cimini making the assist. Sydney Payne and Zoe McKinney made key saves at goal.
Westfield is 1-0-1 in the conference and 2-1-1 overall. The ‘Rocks play Monday at 3A No. 19 Guerin Catholic.
Fishers, ranked No. 13 in 3A, dropped a 1-0 HCC game to 3A No. 9 Zionsville on Wednesday.
The Tigers are 1-1-1 in conference play and 3-1-1 overall. Fishers will play at the Carmel Invitational on Saturday, taking on 2A No. 4 Cathedral at 10:45 a.m. and the host, 3A No. 2 Greyhounds at 6:45 p.m.
