Girls soccer: Heights takes all-county game, ‘Rocks, ‘Hounds win big

In a Monday all-county game, Hamilton Heights beat Sheridan 2-0.
Amanda Irwin and Madison Bickett scored goals for the Huskies, with Emily Stirn handing out one assist. Irwin also had two saves as goalkeeper.
Blackhawks goalkeeper Nixon Williams made 13 saves and came off her line quickly to act as another sweeper. Makaela Mosolf earned Sheridan player of the game honors with her tireless effort during the entire game, along with several timely defensive plays.

Also on Monday, Westfield took care of Northwestern 8-0.
Ari Telles and Annabelle O’Hair both scored two goals, while Nicole Burkett, Tate Snodgrass and Lydia Hermann each had one goal.

Carmel opened Metropolitan Conference play by beating Ben Davis 8-0.
Aaliyah Thompson had two goals for the Class 3A No. 4 Greyhounds, with Ashley Witucki, Emily Speidel, Kelsie James, Elyse Reed and Katie Soderstrom all scoring one. Speidel, James and Soderstrom all had two assists, with Tess Nihill providing one assist.
