Girls soccer: Blackhawks get their third consecutive conference title, Tigers take down Avon

The Sheridan girls soccer team clinched its third consecutive undefeated Hoosier Heartland Conference championship Wednesday with a 10-0 victory at Rossville.

Cecilia Timme scored three goals for the Class 1A No. 7 Blackhawks, with Sadie Timme and Brielle Garner both scoring two goals. Abby Dallas, Ji Warren and Mak Southerland each had one goal, with Makenzy Terry and Cecilia Timme both handing out two assists.

Over the past three seasons, Sheridan has allowed only one goal in conference play. The Hawks finished their HHC campaign with a 4-0 record.

Sheridan is 10-4-1 overall and plays its next game Tuesday at Benton Central.

Fishers picked up a 2-1 HCC victory over Avon Wednesday.

Elise May and Rena Sawada both scored goals for the 3A No. 20 Tigers, with May assisting Sawada’s goal and Iris Martin making the assist on May’s goal.

Fishers completed conference play 3-3-1 and is 8-5-2 overall. The Tigers play at North Central on Tuesday to complete the regular season.

Hamilton Southeastern, the No. 1 team in Class 3A, played to a 1-1 tie with 3A No. 10 Zionsville in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

The game was scoreless at halftime, with Addy Ash making a big save for the Royals. The Eagles scored at the start of the second half, with a Zionsville free kick hitting the post and rebounding out. The subsequent scrum led to a goal.

Southeastern got the equalizer with seven minutes left. Margaux Henning was taken down, which led to a penalty kick for the Royals. Blair Satterfield put the ball in for the HSE goal.

The game was also Southeastern’s Pink Night, and the team raised $2,700 for cancer research.

The Royals finished conference play 4-0-3 and are 12-0-3 overall. Southeastern finishes the regular season next Wednesday by hosting Mount Vernon.

Guerin Catholic, the No. 6 team in 2A, played to a 0-0 tie with 3A No. 9 Center Grove on Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles are 6-3-4 and play Saturday at 2A No. 1 South Bend St. Joseph.
