The Noblesville girls lacrosse team began regional play last Friday by beating Bishop Chatard 21-9 in a home game.
It was the ninth straight victory for the Millers. The offensive was led by Nataley Blackburn’s seven goals, her best output of the season. Chloe Barnett contributed three goals. Scoring two goals each were Molly Adams, Lydia Dumas, Avery Pohlman, and Katelyn Etchison, and rounding out the scoring with one goal each were Emma Hammond, Marisha Woehler and Brie Hassan.
The Millers had nine assists with Hammond dishing out four. Barnett and Ashley Ralph each made two assists and Guinnie Salas had one.
Goalkeeper Adi Terry anchored the defense with 12 saves, one forced turnover, one ground ball and one interception. Defender Lila Julian contributed three forced turnovers and three ground balls.
Noblesville continues regional play tonight at Zionville.
CARMEL HOSTS WESTFIELD
An all-county regional game takes place at Carmel tonight, as the Greyhounds host Westfield.
Last week, the Shamrocks beat Heritage Christian 14-6 in their first regional game. Lauren Dean scored five goals, followed by Molly O’Brien with three, Charley Kocsis and Kayla Reis with two each, and Hannah Cavalcanti and Ally Weirick with one each.
O’Brien, Reis and Weirick all had two assists, with Cavalcanti, Dean and Kocsis each handing out one. Jazmine Gonzalez made 11 saves as goalkeeper.
ROYALS PLAY PENN
Hamilton Southeastern will take on Penn in a Saturday regional game.
The Royals beat Brebeuf Jesuit 19-6 last Friday to advance. Sarah Gastineau scored six goals, Evelynn Armstrong added four and Sidney Sloan put in three goals. Ellie Nawa scored two goals, and Emma Reichert and Evelyn Schenck each added one.
Jessie Lyons and Sloan both handed out three assists, followed by one each for Olivia Bradley, Reese Bradley, Edie Fisher and Gastineau.
