Girls lacrosse: Golden Eagles cruise past Trojans

The Guerin Catholic girls lacrosse team sailed past Bishop Chatard 18-8 in a Wednesday away game.

The Golden Eagles led 11-3 at halftime. Gabby Deer and Jane Cline each scored five goals for Guerin Catholic, with Claire Flannagan adding three goals. Lucy Esposito and Caroline Ford both put in two goals, and Lila Jones scored one.

Ford dished out four assists and made five draw controls, with Deer getting six draw controls. Flannagan handed out two assists. Ford also had a strong defensive game, with four forced turnovers and an interception. Goalkeeper Audrey Papay made eight saves, with Lila Voelkel getting three saves.

The Golden Eagles are 11-1 and host Heritage Christian on Tuesday.
