Girls golf: Noblesville comes out on top at Center Grove Invitational

The Noblesville girls golf team claimed another big title last Saturday, winning the Center Grove Invitational at Hickory Stick Golf Club.

The Millers scored 306, ahead of Westfield and Floyd Central; those schools tied for runner-up honors with 312s. Hamilton Southeastern finished fourth as a team with 324. Guerin Catholic finished in the top half of the scoring, placing eighth out of 18 teams with 341.

Noblesville placed two golfers in the top 10, starting with Olivia Fowler. Her score of 73 tied her for sixth place, and she helped herself with an eagle on the 13^th hole. Fowler also made one birdie. Olivia Anderson tied for eighth with 74, including two birdies, while Josie Kelley’s 76 included two birdies.

The Shamrocks’ Addi Kooi had another strong outing, tying for second with a 72. Kooi made three birdies in her round. Kelsey Haverluck tied for eighth by carding 74; she drained an eagle on the par 4 14^th hole and collected two birdies. Sophie Raines and Lilley Ku both had two birdies as well.

Sophie Roberts led the Royals, also scoring a 72 to tie for second place. Roberts drained three birdies, while Maya Cieply made four birdies. Karolina Franssen had one birdie.

Ali Scott scored 82 for the Golden Eagles, making one birdie. Sarah Rigg had three birdies and Sydney Delagrange put in two birdies during their rounds of 83. Gracie Navarro also made one birdie in her round.

Westfield and Guerin Catholic also sent teams to Ulen Country Club last Saturday for the Ulen Open.

The Shamrocks scored 351 to finish third as a team. Ellison Daggy tied for fifth place individually with 84. Other Westfield scores were Anna McKeown 87, Sadie Edwards 89, Harper Bryant 91 and Ava DeCraene 109.

The Golden Eagles totaled 415 as a team. Ava Klinker scored 98, followed by London Payne 101, Mallory Aigotti 106, Reagan Kaercher 110 and Annie Murphy 112.

University participated in the Ulen Open, scoring 444. Grace Cates led the Trailblazers with 96, followed by Quincy Russell 110, Scout Griffiths 118, Sophie Stratman 120 and Maryn Stephenson 121.
