Girls golf: Kuc’s 34 leads Carmel to victory in three-team match

The Carmel girls golf team won a three-team match at Gray Eagle Golf Club on Tuesday.
The No. 3-ranked Greyhounds scored 151 to No. 19 Center Grove’s 164 and Fishers’ 184. Katie Kuc carded a two-under par round of 34 for medalist honors.
Nina Hecht scored a 38 while Ella Woods had a 39. Other Carmel scores were Sydney Longstreth 40, Ava Hedrick 43, Elizabeth Hedrick 44, Averie Reiter 44 and Ainsley Wright 48.
Fishers scores were unavailable.

University also won a Tuesday three-team match, beating Clinton Central and Clinton Prairie at Frankfort Commons.
The Trailblazers scored a 212. Freshman Becky Williams was the meet medalist with a score of 40, followed by sophomore Molly Bickle with 49.

Westfield took on No. 1-ranked Zionsville Tuesday in a match-play event at Prairie View.
The Eagles beat the No. 7-ranked Shamrocks 2.5-3.5, Grace Snyder won her match 3&2 while Brette Hanavan won hers 2 up. Natalie Shupe took two of her last three holes to halve her match.
Westfield will play Zionsville again on Thursday, as well as No. 8 Brownsburg in a three-team meet at West Chase Golf Club.
