The Noblesville girls basketball team picked up another win over a ranked team on Saturday.
The Millers hosted Mishawaka Marian, the fourth-ranked team in Class 3A, and broke away from the Knights in the fourth quarter to win 63-52. Marian was undefeated going into The Mill.
Noblesville led 17-15 after the first quarter and 35-31 at halftime. The Knights cut the Millers’ lead to 44-33 going into the fourth period, but Noblesville pulled away in that quarter by outscoring Marian 63-52.
Ashlynn Shade had another big game, earning a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds, along with five steals and four assists. Jayla Jones added 11 points and five rebounds, with Brooklyn Smitherman scoring eight points and collecting five rebounds.
The Millers are 5-1 and play a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game Tuesday at Brownsburg.

‘Rocks return to action with victory at Rushville
After almost a month, the Westfield girls basketball team finally got back on the court on Saturday.
The Shamrocks traveled to Rushville, where they beat the Lions 46-37. Westfield got off to a good start, leading 13-6 after the first quarter.
Rushville came back in the second period, cutting the Shamrocks’ lead to 21-19 by halftime. The Lions then got within 31-30 after three quarters, but Westfield pulled away in the fourth, scoring 15 points while holding Rushville to seven.
Alyssa Crockett scored 22 points for the ‘Rocks and also had eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Jessica Castor added nine points. Olivia Robey had four assists and four steals.
Westfield is 3-1 and will host Carmel on Tuesday.

Tigers win 7th straight
Fishers won its seventh straight game on Saturday, taking care of Bishop Chatard 54-37 at the Tiger Den.
Class 4A No. 8 Fishers got out to a solid start, leading 15-7 after the first quarter. The Tigers maintained that lead through the second period, holding a 27-19 advantage at halftime, then pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Trojans 19-7 to take a 46-26 lead.
Hailey Smith led Fishers with 14 points, followed by Katie Burton with 10 points. Katie Howard hit two 3-pointers on her way to eight points and also collected three rebounds.
The Tigers are now 8-1 for the season and will host Noblesville on Friday in an all-county and Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Royals finish up road trip with win
Hamilton Southeastern got a victory at McCutcheon on Saturday, finishing a four-game road trip by beating the Mavericks 56-33.
The Class 4A No. 4 Royals took control of the game early, leading 18-6 after the first quarter. Southeastern extended its lead to 32-13 at halftime and was in front 39-22 after three periods. HSE scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to finish the game.
Ryan Viele threw in four 3-pointers on her way to 18 points, one of three Royals players to reach double figures. Makayla Hinshaw added 15 points, including a pair of triples, while Lydia Self scored 10 points. Self had a great all-around game, with seven rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.
Southeastern is 5-2 and returns home on Tuesday to host Pendleton Heights.

Trailblazers beat Brebeuf, are 5-0
The Class 2A No. 3-ranked University girls basketball team improved to 5-0 on the season with a 54-30 win over Brebeuf Jesuit Saturday.
Sophomore Kelsey DuBois had 14 points and 15 rebounds. Sophomore Payton Seay scored 13 points, pulled down nine rebounds and had six steals.
University led just 10-8 after the first quarter following a buzzer-beating three pointer by Brebeuf. The Trailblazers put the clamps on defensively, holding Brebeuf without a field goal for the next 11:32 of the game.
Seay exploded for eight points in the second quarter as University scored 11 straight points to break the game open. The Blazers led 28-15 at halftime.
DuBois had seven points in the third quarter as University scored the last seven points on the period and led 37-21 after the third.
Sierra Hinds had 10 points, Arrion Sherrod scored nine points on a trio of three pointers and Jordan Patterson scored eight.
Brebeuf Jesuit falls to 4-2 on the season
University’s next game is Friday when it travels to Ball Memorial Gymnasium to take on Muncie Burris.
