The Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation continues its support for library programs with two special fundraising events in April.

Library After Dark is an after-hours event for those aged 21 and over on Saturday, April 15, at the Main Library, 425 E. Main St. The event will include food, drinks, music, indoor mini golf, and other activities throughout the newly renovated library. Tickets for Library After Dark are $40 for an individual and $75 for a pair.

Library After Dark is being planned and presented by the CCPL Foundation’s Young Professionals Group.

“We’re excited to build on the success of our first Library After Dark event that was held in 2019,” said Hadley Vlahogeorge, the group’s president. “Because of COVID and the library renovation project, this is the first time we’ve been able to have this event since 2019. With the new Main Library, it will be a whole new experience this time around.”

The following weekend, the CCPL Foundation Friends will hold their own large-scale fundraising event when the Spring Book Sale returns to the Main Library.

Gently used books, movies, and more will be on sale for $10 a bag. The book sale will take place in the Main Library Community Room on Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22 with a special early shopping night for Friends members and donors on Thursday, April 20.

“The Foundation Friends Bookstore has been hugely popular since the Main Library reopened,” Foundation Director Elizabeth Hamilton said. “Visitors have been eager for our semi-annual book sales to start back up because they love the great deals.”

All proceeds from both the Library After Dark event and the Spring Book Sale support the library’s programs and events, including the Summer and Winter Reading Programs, guest lectures, and music and movie performances.
