Gerry Louise Henry

June 25, 1941 – April 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Gerry Louise Henry, on April 2, 2025.

Gerry Henry was born Gerry Louise Bowser to Keith and Maxine Bowser on June 25, 1941, in Noblesville. Known for her loving spirit and dedication to nurturing others, she was a beacon of light in the lives of those around her.

Gerry earned her nursing degree on August 17, 1962, embarking on a vocation that spanned over five decades as a registered nurse. She was also a mentor to many young nursing assistants throughout her career. Gerry retired from Anderson Family Practice, leaving behind a legacy of care and selflessness.

Gerry married the love of her life, Jerry, on February 10, 1962. Sharing a name with her husband often led to lifelong confusion, but it also earned her the affectionate monikers “Mom Gerry” or “Girl Gerry” among those who loved her. Her greatest joy was found in family, where her devotion knew no bounds. She was a steadfast source of love, wisdom, and encouragement to her children, Gregg, Jennifer, and Tracy.

A devoted member of Mount Comfort United Methodist Church, Gerry exemplified faith in action. Whether offering a helping hand, lending a listening ear, or baking cakes to brighten someone’s day, she embraced every opportunity to serve. Her enduring friendships and strong community ties were a testament to the love she so freely gave. Gerry’s life echoed the sentiment, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she imparted, and the love she so generously shared.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Jerry Henry; children, Gregg (Heidi) Henry, Jennifer (Kevin) Elliott, and Tracy Henry; sisters, Donna (John) Flora, Phyllis Keeler, and Jackie Miller; grandchildren, Todd (Cassidy) Elliott, Katie Pence, and Allie (Josh) Boles; great-grandchildren, Sodeska, Graham, and Mila; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce Henry-McClimon and Stan McClimon. Gerry was cherished by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Hartley Funeral Homes – Cicero, 209 W. Jackson St. The visitation service will be held on the same day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hartley Funeral Homes. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available at my.gather.app/remember/gerry-henry-2025.
