George Antle Cottrell, 86, Fishers, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on December 11, 1934 to George B. and Mildred (Antle) Cottrell in Poseyville, Ind.
George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from Butler University and received a Doctorate of Law degree from Indiana University. George was partner in his own law firm and was a member of the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum. He was a member of Fishers United Methodist Church and Indian Lake Golf Club. George was a die-hard Butler basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis Cottrell; son, George T. (Anne Marie) Cottrell; daughter, Cathy Ann (Roy) Franklin; five grandchildren, Maddie, Lucy, George and Emily Cottrell, and Elly Lee Franklin; sisters, Carol Ann Tenbarge, Nancy Baker and Priscilla Rutledge; and his brother, Rodger Cottrell.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, with visitation from 1 p.m. to the time of service at the funeral home. Rev. Mark Ellcessor will officiate.
